Chat with a saved YouTube video
ScribeShot video chat answers questions from the material you saved for that lesson. It can retrieve transcript passages and analyzed screenshots, then connect the response back to the source instead of treating the video as an ungrounded conversation prompt.
Updated
Quick workflow
- 1
Open a saved video lesson in ScribeShot.
- 2
Ask a question about a concept, example, diagram, or moment in the video.
- 3
Review the answer together with any relevant screenshot evidence.
- 4
Use the linked timestamp when you want to verify the explanation in the original video.
What chat searches
Chat uses the saved transcript as its main textual source and can retrieve analyzed screenshots that match the question. For short material, more of the source can fit directly in context. For long videos, ScribeShot uses chunking and retrieval so a multi-hour transcript does not have to be sent as one enormous prompt.
Why screenshots improve answers
If a tutorial shows code while the presenter says “change this value here,” the transcript alone is incomplete. A captured and analyzed screenshot can supply the missing visual context. When that frame is relevant, ScribeShot can show it with the answer instead of pretending the spoken words contain everything.
Use chat for retrieval, not only summarization
Useful questions are often specific: “what were the three failure modes?”, “which command did the presenter run?”, “what did the diagram put between the client and queue?”, or “where was the comparison between the two approaches?” Those questions turn the video into a searchable reference after you have finished watching it.
Keep answers anchored to the lesson
When you need confidence, follow the source timestamp and inspect the relevant captured frame. The purpose of chat is to shorten retrieval time while preserving a path back to the original evidence.
Common questions
Can chat use information from screenshots?
Yes. Captured screenshots are analyzed and indexed so relevant visual material can be retrieved with transcript context.
Can ScribeShot chat across my entire library?
The current video-chat workflow is centered on the saved lesson you have open. Cross-library chat is a separate roadmap direction.
