Use ScribeShot video notes directly in Obsidian
ScribeShot does not need an Obsidian plugin or a special export format. Its readable output is already Markdown and image files on your Mac, so the simplest integration is to place the ScribeShot library inside a vault or open the library as its own vault.

Choose a ScribeShot notes directory inside your existing Obsidian vault, or use the ScribeShot directory as a separate vault.

Process a YouTube video normally in ScribeShot.

Open the generated Markdown files from Obsidian.

Add your own wikilinks, tags, backlinks, or surrounding notes without changing how ScribeShot stores the lesson.
Why no plugin is required
The main lesson files are ordinary Markdown. Screenshots use relative paths, so an image referenced by notes.md stays attached when the whole video folder moves together. Obsidian reads those files natively.
Mind maps render as Mermaid
ScribeShot writes the visual map to mindmap.md using Mermaid. Obsidian can render Mermaid in Reading View, so the same generated map remains usable without converting it into a proprietary canvas format.
Connect video notes to your existing knowledge base
Once the files are in the vault, use normal Obsidian features around them: add [[wikilinks]], connect a lesson to a project or course note, add tags, and use backlinks or graph views. ScribeShot continues to own the generated video workspace; Obsidian can provide the cross-note layer around it.
PDF export is optional
You do not need to export anything to use the lesson in Obsidian. Keep Markdown as the working format. Use PDF export only when you need a separate document for printing or sharing outside your vault.

Do I need a ScribeShot plugin for Obsidian?
No. ScribeShot writes standard Markdown and local image files that Obsidian can read directly.
Can I use Obsidian wikilinks with ScribeShot notes?
Yes. Once the note folder is inside your vault, you can add normal Obsidian links and metadata around the generated files.
