Use the knowledge saved across your videos
The Knowledge Base brings your saved ScribeShot lessons together. Use Search to find a source, Ask Library to explain a topic across lessons, and Test Me to check what you remember.

Quick workflow

Save a YouTube video and generate its notes. Capture useful screenshots as you watch.

Open Knowledge Base from the app navigation.

Choose Search, Ask Library, or Test Me for the job you want to do.

Follow the source links back to the saved lesson to check an explanation or review a gap.
Choose the right tool
- Search: find where you learned something. Enter a topic such as “agent loops” and inspect relevant saved material grouped by video. How to use Search →
- Ask Library: get an explanation across lessons. Ask “How do these lessons explain agent loops?” and check the cited sources behind the answer. How to use Ask Library →
- Test Me: practice recall. Choose a topic from your saved learning, attempt a question, then check the answer and review its explanation and sources. How to use Test Me →
What the Knowledge Base can use
It works with material already saved in your ScribeShot library, such as transcripts, notes, and available screenshot analysis. It does not search all of YouTube or silently generate missing notes or image analysis to fill a gap.
If a useful idea is missing, open the original lesson and check that its transcript and notes are available. For a diagram or code shown only on screen, capture the relevant frame and use image analysis to make that visual context available.
A practical review session
- Search for a topic you remember studying and open the matching lesson.
- Use Ask Library for a focused question connecting the saved explanations.
- Use Test Me to attempt the topic from memory before rereading.
- Return to the cited material for anything you missed, then try explaining it in your own words.
AI answers and questions can be mistaken or incomplete. Source links let you check them against your saved material.
One video or your whole library?
Chat with Video and Video Quiz focus on the current lesson. Search, Ask Library, and Test Me work across the saved library. Use the current-video tools when you already know the source; use the Knowledge Base when the question starts with a topic.
Local AI and review boundaries
ScribeShot runs supported AI inference locally on your Mac. Complete local model setup before using AI answers and quizzes. YouTube access and model downloads still need an internet connection.
Test Me is active recall with question review; it is not a scheduled spaced-repetition system. Start with a small set of useful lessons and expand the library as you learn.
Common questions
Does Knowledge Base search all of YouTube?
No. It works with material already saved in your ScribeShot library. Add and process a lesson before expecting it to appear as a useful source.
Which tool should I start with?
Use Search to locate a saved source, Ask Library for a sourced explanation across lessons, or Test Me to practice recalling saved knowledge.
Will it create missing notes or screenshot analysis automatically?
No. Knowledge Base uses saved artifacts. Open the lesson to generate missing notes or analyze a captured screenshot when needed.
